CBSE NORTH ZONE TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP INAUGRATED IN JKPS KUNJWANI.

It was a historic moment for JK Public School, Kunjwani, to host CBSE North Zone 1 Taekwondo Championship which is being held for the first time in the state ever. In all, 77 CBSE schools are participating in the event. Mr.Pushkar Vohra, Joint Director Sports, CBSE Delhi, was the Chief Guest on the opening ceremony of the championship. Mr.Raj Daluja, Chairman, JK Educational Society, Mrs. Neelam Daluja, Mrs. Sara Daluja, Mr. Gautam Daluja, members of the school management, Brig. Sukhdev Singh, Director as also the Principals of JK Educational Society graced the occasion. Other dignitaries comprised of Principals of various CBSE Schools of Jammu region.

The programme started with the hoisting of CBSE flag which was followed by CBSE song. Mr S.K. Singh, the Principal, formally welcomed the august gathering and advised the players to play the game in its true spirit. This was followed by march past by contingents of all participating schools. Ukshay Sharma, the Sports Captain of JK Public School, administered the oath. The school song was sung by the school choir. Mr Pushkar Vohra, thereafter, declared the championship open. He congratulated the school management for providing such a wonderful infrastructure for holding the meet and suggested that it would be wonderful to hold more such events in the zone in future. He also encouraged the Taekwondo players to set their goals high and not to stop till they get there. The Chairman felicitated the Chief Guest. Various bouts were then held throughout the day in JK Public School, Kunjwani auditorium.
